PERSONALITY:

Jiyong is first and foremost full of energy and quick to smile. He prefers to joke rather than dwell on somber things and while he can have a temper, he's usually the first to apologize. This can be a good and a bad thing--he doesn't often hold grudges but at the same time, it means he's rarely serious and can occasionally be insensitive. Jiyong is by nature a touch-centered person--he's quick to give hugs and hold hands, to a point that verges on being a little needy.

Jiyong is fiercely loyal, especially in the case of his best friend Seunghyun. He's protective of him, but at times, his kid-like nature can lead to him being more dependent on the younger man than dependable.

Though not religious, Jiyong does have a certain way of thinking in which some things are very black and white wrong or right. He hates to be lied to or to be left out of the loop. He can be a bit of a prude when it comes to sex--very vanilla, even though he doesn't hesitate to indulge in casual sex at the first opportunity.

Overall, he's a fun-loving and upbeat person, if a bit of an unrepentant dork at times.

HISTORY:

Jiyong was born in Seoul in 1984 to a single, unwed mother. He spent a good amount of time alone as a kid, having to entertain himself while his mother was working double shifts at two jobs. All this time alone lead to Jiyong being very attached to other children when he started school, carrying on into high school where he got involved with a graffiti crew and ended up dropping out at 16. His mother furiously gave him an ultimatum--to either go back to school or move out and support himself. Jiyong chose the latter, bunking with members of his crew and working odd jobs for the next couple of years.

In 1999, he met Seunghyun by chance when he watched the younger boy getting ganged up on and got involved, though his intervention didn't yield much more than company in the other's beatdown. Taking a liking to the other, Jiyong essentially became inseperable from him, going so far as to follow him to Sekyong City when the other left. After working as a barback at a local nightclub, Jiyong graduated to full bartend, though his deliquent days still lurk behind the legitamacy of a 'real job'.
